It Takes Two to Make a Thing Go Right

While so much emphasis focused primarily on women when it comes to fertility -- it actually takes two to make a baby. In fact, did you know male factor infertility accounts for 40% of all infertile couples? I always ask patients who are trying to conceive if their partners have had a sperm analysis to measure quality, quantity, motility and shape of sperm.

Lifestyle

Three significant overlooked factors that impact male factor infertility are:

1) Everyday stress

2) Poor sleep

3) Diet and digestion

Stress is one of the biggest underlying factors that affects sperm health and poor sleep can negatively affect sperm quality and quantity.

Not enough sleep impacts the growth hormone secreted during the night needed for sperm production.

Poor diet significantly contributes to male factor infertility as not enough nutrients are consumed to support healthy sperm yield.

All of these factors can easily be remedied with lifestyle interventions which I recommend to my patients when they come in for treatment.

Five Key Areas of Treatment

And when it comes to treating male factor infertility with Chinese medicine, we focus on five key areas that all contribute to healthy, fertile swimmers:

1)    Improve blood flow and oxygen to the male reproductive organs

2)    Decrease systemic stress and inflammation

3)    Balance testosterone

4)    Regulate body temperature

5)    Improve sperm quality

Because sperm generates every 72 days, consistent and regular weekly acupuncture treatments, plus herbs can help sperm to make a complete turnaround.

In fact, after weekly acupuncture treatments and Chinese herbs, over the course of 6-8 weeks, a patient who presented with low count and morphology male factor was tested at week nine. Sperm analysis showed that morphology had increased from 2.67% to 5.2% (normal range is 4-14) and count increased from under 15 million sperm per milliliter to over 100 million.

I would love to talk with you more if this is an issue you’d like to treat. Our packages make it easy to create this kind of turnaround and you can rest easy knowing that you’re working on every single angle to make your family building a reality.
