Pain Management

Your natural alarm system
Pain is the body’s natural response of letting us know when there’s a problem, usually an underlying issue that needs to be addressed, whether that’s inflammation, an orthopedic issue like a strained or torn ligament or tendon, or what we call in Chinese medicine, blood stagnation.
Pain impacts our entire system
Whether acute or chronic, pain impacts every aspect and function of our lives: sleep, digestion, appetite, sex, exercise, energy, work and relationships. The emotional and psychological weight of living with pain creates a cycle that can ultimately lead to more pain.
I utilize cupping, gua sha, acupuncture, electrostimulation, and a handcrafted topical called Zheng Gu Shui made with empirical grade ingredients, to bring out your body’s natural healing abilities.
Building over time
The benefits of acupuncture are cumulative. Therefore, more than one treatment is recommended. For acute conditions you can expect to schedule six to 10 treatments, but will usually begin to feel relief after a few treatments. Chronic conditions may take longer to respond depending on the type, severity and duration.
What my patients say
“I started seeing Kat for help with chronic migraines, and she is amazing! Her care and kindness have helped me so much and her treatments have helped me get back to work after an extended medical leave. The gift of finding Kat to work with was really comforting. If you are considering acupuncture in the Ferndale area, I implore you to seek out Kat.”

“I’ve had chronic shoulder pain due to an old injury for 20 years . . . but now, thanks to Kat, I no longer experience chronic pain! From the moment we started talking at my first appointment, I was so impressed with Kat, she is an excellent listener and it is obvious she really cares about her patients. If you are curious about the many benefits of acupuncture, I highly recommend seeing Kat.”
