Your First Visit

Prior to your first Acupuncture appointment, you will be asked to complete a comprehensive intake form and sign consent documents online via the patient portal. You can access the patient portal here. Contact the office for a registration link if you are unable to obtain one online.

After reviewing your intake form, we will thoroughly discuss your condition and concerns. At your initial consultation and first appointment, we will go over personal health history, medical history, diet and lifestyle. In addition, I will examine your pulse and tongue which are two of the basic diagnostic methods of Chinese medicine and share those findings.

The acupuncture points selected will depend on your condition, but you can expect approximately 15-20 needles. Once the needles are inserted, you can expect to lie comfortably for 45 minutes during your treatment. Many people find acupuncture treatment deeply relaxing, and it is not uncommon for patients to fall asleep during this time.

Is there anything I can do to improve my acupuncture experience?               

• Please make sure to eat a small meal at least 2 hours prior to your scheduled treatment.
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
• Drink plenty of water before and after your visit.
• Please refrain from performing heavy physical activity or exercise after your treatment.
