Acupuncture Treatment Fees

Kat Barber Acupuncture offers private, individualized treatments to our patients. Our rates are comparable in the area and are based on years in practice and experience treating a variety of conditions. Sessions last for approximately 45-60 minutes.

We accept all forms of payment, including cash, credit card, AMEX, and flexible spending FSA/HSA debit cards. We use a Square reader for secure payment.

Kat Barber Acupuncture will periodically run specials on specific conditions throughout the year. Please contact our office with questions or look for current offers by following our Instagram, Facebook or Google Business pages.

Individual sessions:

New patient evaluation and treatment - $119

Return patient treatment - $89

An acupuncture package can be purchased at the first visit which waives the new patient evaluation and treatment fee of $119. This allows for a substantial savings! This offer is available at the first visit only.

Package discounts:

Package of 5 visits prepay - 5% discount

Package of 10 visits prepay - 10% discount

Kat Barber Acupuncture offers additional discounted packages that can reduce the per session rate even further with some restrictions. These offers do not apply to every condition treated at our office and are only available at the first visit. Please call the office for more information.

Insurance and Acupuncture Coverage

Kat Barber Acupuncture is out of network with most insurance plans except United Healthcare. If your health insurance covers acupuncture, we can provide you with a detailed invoice or super bill at time of payment. This can be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement directly to you.

Note, discounted package rates are not available for patients with health insurance coverage for acupuncture that require a detailed invoice or super bill.

United Healthcare only covers acupuncture for musculo-skeletal pain such as neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, low back pain, or headache. UHC does not cover acupuncture coverage for any other medical condition. Kat Barber Acupuncture will verify UHC benefits as a courtesy for new patients.

Note, Kat Barber Acupuncture is not in network with every United Healthcare insurance plan so having UHC insurance does not guarantee we are in network for your UHC acupuncture benefits.

Information for Contacting Your Insurance Company
Here is some helpful information to determine if you have acupuncture coverage with your private health insurance.

Our experience shows that the following professions may have acupuncture coverage through their employers: teachers, university professors, police officers, fire fighters and state and federal employees.

Call the number on the back of your card and ask if you have acupuncture coverage.
If you do have acupuncture coverage, verify if it is for in network or out of network.
You may be asked for acupuncture CPT codes and a diagnosis. As an example use: CPT - 97810 & 97811 and diagnosis M54.5 for low back pain.
Verify if there is a co-pay or deductible to meet before acupuncture is covered.
Verify if your co-pay / deductible is different for an in network or out of network provider.
