Kat Barber Acupuncture offers private, individualized treatments to patients. Rates are comparable in the area and are based on years in practice and experience treating a variety of conditions. Kat Barber, L.Ac. has been in practice for 11 years and has worked in hospital-based settings, fertility clinics and with integrated health teams. Sessions last for approximately 45-60 minutes.

I accept all forms of payment including cash, credit cards, AMEX, Discover and flexible spending FSA/HSA debit cards.

Individual sessions:

New patient evaluation and treatment - $120

Return patient treatment - $90

An acupuncture package can be purchased at the first visit which waives the new patient evaluation and treatment fee of $120 This offer is available at the first visit only.

Package of 3 visits - $250 --for a savings of $20

Package of 5 visits - $410---for a savings of $40

Facial Acupuncture:

Individual 60 minute treatment- $150 which includes facial acupuncture, Celluma red light therapy, facial cupping and Gua Sha

Package of 10 - $1300--for a savings of $200

Microneedling:

Individual 60 minute treatment- $350 includes microneedling, Celluma red light therapy and Chinese herbal infused serums.

Package of 5 sessions - $1350--for a savings of $400

Insurance and Acupuncture Coverage

Kat Barber Acupuncture is credentialed with and accepts some Optum and United Healthcare plans. I will verify benefits prior to your first appointment. I am currently in the process of becoming paneled with other health insurance companies in Michigan and will be updating information shortly.

If your health insurance covers acupuncture, I can provide you with a detailed invoice or super bill at time of payment. This can be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement directly to you.

Note: discounted package rates are not available for patients with health insurance coverage for acupuncture that require a detailed invoice or super bill.

United Healthcare only covers acupuncture for musculo-skeletal pain such as neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, low back pain, or headache. UHC does not cover acupuncture coverage for any other medical condition. Kat Barber Acupuncture will verify UHC benefits as a courtesy for new patients.

Helpful Information When Contacting Your Insurance Company:

• Call the number on the back of your card and ask if you have Acupuncture coverage.
• If you do have Acupuncture coverage, verify if it is for in or out of network.
  You may be asked for Acupuncture CPT codes and a diagnosis. As an example use: CPT - 97810 & 97811 and diagnosis M54.5 for low back pain.
• Verify if there is a co-pay or deductible to meet before Acupuncture is covered.
• Verify if your co-pay /deductible is different for an in or out of network provider.
• Ask how many acupuncture visits you receive annually.
